Desiree was born in Orpington Kent and now lives on the South Coast in West Sussex, England.
She has always had a passion for wildlife Art and photography. The reference material for her projects are gathered on location through sketching and photography. Many trips to Africa has given her a wonderful collection of big game images to work with. Desiree says that our English wildlife and countryside is a continuous source of inspiration and her aim is to capture that special moment in time and recreate it in a painting or photograph.
The Art of Chinese Brush Painting has remained a favourite and in particular the 'Meticulous' style. This style of painting is a careful, realistic technique that incorporates the most intricate detail and vivid colour to describe narrative scenes. Using Silk (* Desiree uses Eri silk and Rice paper )
Her Meticulous paintings are much sort after and collectable. She is happy to chat about the process of this painting style.
Desiree has won many awards for her work and has been 5 times selected for the David Shepherd wildlife Artist of the year. Her work is collected as far as Australia. She exhibits at Country Show and Fairs - Art society exhibitions and Festivals. Please see her events calendar for updates on pending shows.
